Charlotte Elite Wrestling Club is a 501(C)3, non-profit organization founded in 2015 by Chris Foy and Brian Thompson, in the Ballantyne area of South Charlotte. The club focuses on 3 styles of wrestling (Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman) to develop the best overall techniques and skills. Practice groups are separated into to age categories to better accommodate the growth and development of the specific age group and skill-sets.

            Club Founding Coaches

 

Co-founders, coaches Brian Thompson and Chris Foy, combined have over 20 years of wrestling experience and knowledge. Brian Thompson comes from Winston Salem where he wrestled at Parkland High School, where he was a state placer and finalist helping lead his team to a 3rd consecutive state championship with a cummulative record of 133-0. Coach Thompson was the first national qualifier in school history at NAIA college, Lindsey Wilson, and varsity starter at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.  Chris Foy comes from Greenville, NC where he wrestled at South Central High School, breaking the school's all time wins record in his attendance, regional silver and gold medalist, multiple time NC-USA Freestyle and Greco-Roman state champion and North Carolina National Team member. Coach Foy, competed collegiality and was a starter for the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and also holds the highest national category rank of officials in USAW.
